"Escapees from an insane asylum! One is an ex-baseball player turned rapist, another is gay, and the ringleader is a low-rent impressionist. Video: 3/5

Here’s the information provided about this release's transfer, "New 4K-UHD Restoration from the original 35mm camera negatives."

Delinquent Schoolgirls comes on a 25 GB single layer Blu-ray.

Disc Size: 21.8 GB

Feature: 20.4 GB

Despite receiving a new 4K restoration from the original 35mm camera negatives, the outcome is far from ideal. There are times throughout where a dip in quality is noticeable. That said, color saturation fluctuates, black levels are never convincing, and there are some mild compression issues.

Audio: 3/5

This release comes with one audio option, a LPCM mono mix in English with removable English SDH. There are some instances of background hiss and other imperfections. That said, dialogue comes through clearly, and range-wise this audio track is serviceable.

Extras:

Extras for this release include a theatrical trailer for Delinquent Schoolgirls (3 minutes 17 seconds, LPCM mono English, no subtitles), a featurette titled Psychotronica: Dive into Cult Cinema (2 minutes 26 seconds, LPCM stereo English, no subtitles), reversible cover art, and an archival audio commentary with actor and stuntman Bob Minor and psychotronic expert Elijah Drenner.

Included is a DVD that contains the same contents.

Summary:

Three sex maniacs who have escaped from an asylum besiege an all-girl private school.

Shot over a weekend with short ends, Delinquent Schoolgirls is exactly the rough-around-the-edges exploitation film you expect it to be. Although the narrative that unfolds is linear and moves at a brisk momentum, there is a looseness to it that suggests a lot of it might have been improvised. Also, don’t expect much in the way of backstory that fleshes out characters, since the focal point is always characters doing deviant things.

When the three sex maniacs escape from the asylum, the all-girl private school has sent most of its students home for vacation; only the delinquents remain as a form of punishment. The group of students is accompanied by a few educators, one of whom is a deviant teacher known for drugging, hypnotizing, and assaulting one of his students. While the three sex maniacs constantly think about sex, one of them ultimately observes how perverse the world outside the asylum is in the film's finale.

Although the cast is mostly made up of one-and-done actresses, there are a few notable faces like Colleen Brennan (Supervixens), who had a lengthy career in 1970s exploitation and hardcore sex cinema. In contrast, the male cast includes three recognizable names: Michael Pataki (Graduation Day), Bob Minor (Foxy Brown), and George 'Buck' Flower (The Witch Who Came from the Sea).

The narrative is padded with sexual innuendo and nudity, while exposition takes a backseat to the absurdity that unfolds. Although the narrative is predictable, notably an ending that is too neat, it does throw in some karate for good measure. That said, when it comes to showing off its female cast, this is one area where Delinquent Schoolgirls excels. Ultimately, Delinquent Schoolgirls is a time capsule film that plays well to the specific audience its makers targeted.

VCI Entertainment gives Delinquent Schoolgirls its best home video release to date.
